The end?

I don't know how many players of AO actually stumble over these pages. For those who do, these pages are going down soon (within next one or two weeks unless RL decides otherwise). This doesn't mean this tutorial will be lost forever. Infact, I do hope it will rise like a phoenix out of the ashes :-)

All the content will be moved over to a Wiki, which can be edited freely by anyone who wants to, hopefully not for wrecking it :-P Because I stumbled over some stupid problems with the MediaWiki markup I had to delay the whole thing. It seems I have a solution in the hands now, though. This will give anyone editing the Wiki more power over the text, power which HTML can handle for sure, but not the MediaWiki standard parser. Sad, so sad, especially when I think about the fact that MediaWiki is driving Wikipedia with all it's pages, probably more than 1 million all together ...

Once all is set up correctly, I will have this tutorial redirecting to the wiki, which will run under a slightly different URL.

Problems with PHP & content

Somehow I thought this host has PHP5 installed. But this was yet another trick of my mind to bring doom over me. A single '&' kept me busy for hours in trying to convert the PHP stuff to PHP4 (wtb brain for PHP-Zend developers and their stupid ideas about language "features" of PHP :-P). Anyway, this thing should run now just fine (I hope :-).

Additionally, I added some content and changed existing one:

Rework of the interface

As you see, the interface of the tutorial has been revamped. Infact it's not only the interface which has a new face. The old script has been dumped and the whole thing written from scratch up. It's like LEGO bricks which you can plug to each other in almost unlimited ways.

What does that mean? There will be a number of changes coming in the near future to get the various parts done like planned (reference, news and the search). So stay tuned :-)

PS: The old script has been replaced by a forwarder which maps the old pages to the respective new ones (if they exist).

And more ...

You guessed it, I added a few more premade implants, this time for Agents and Adventurers. Aside from that I fixed a content-bug of the introductional words to the premade implants (Keepers have a booth, too, just the Shades step out of the line :-P).

More premade implants ...

Added four more premade implant layouts which you can buy in basic stores, this time of: Engineer, Enforcer, Doctor and Bureaucrat. Furthermore I did some very small changes to the implant section. More coming soon I hope, now that I'm pretty much busy all the day with non-AO stuff ...

Recent changes & a look ahead

I have a few ideas for the ability-buff-listings, because the way it's done now provides information about what buffs/items exists, but makes the (possible) clashes between them not visible.

Introduction of news

I decided to put up a news page to show recent updates to the twinking tutorial. That will keep you informed what has changed or been added if you are looking for the 'hot' things.
